Welcome to the Friends of Matt Fox campaign website. By accessing or using friendsofmattfox.com (the "Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Website.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Friends of Matt Fox ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Website, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

2. Use of the Website

Permitted Uses

You may use the Website to:

  • Learn about Matt Fox and his campaign for Maryland State Senate District 42
  • Sign up to volunteer
  • Subscribe to campaign updates
  • Make campaign contributions
  • Contact the campaign
  • Share content on social media

Prohibited Uses

You may NOT use the Website to:

  • Violate any federal, state, or local laws
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Harass, threaten, or defame others

  • Impersonate the campaign, candidate, or staff

3. Campaign Contributions

Contribution Rules

All campaign contributions are subject to federal and Maryland state campaign finance laws. By making a contribution, you certify that:

  • You are a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident
  • The contribution is made from your own funds, not from funds provided by another person
  • You are not a federal contractor
  • You are not a foreign national
  • You are at least 18 years old
  • The contribution does not exceed federal or state limits

Contribution Limits (2026 Election Cycle)

Federal law limits contributions to $3,300 per election. Since the primary and general elections are separate, you may contribute up to $6,600 total per cycle ($3,300 for the primary and $3,300 for the general election). Maryland state law may impose additional restrictions. Please consult with your tax advisor regarding the deductibility of contributions.

Refunds

Contributions are generally non-refundable. However, we will refund contributions that:

  • Exceed legal limits
  • Come from prohibited sources
  • Were made in error (at our discretion)

4. Volunteer Activities

By signing up to volunteer, you agree to:

  • Represent the campaign professionally and respectfully
  • Follow campaign guidelines and instructions
  • Comply with all applicable laws while volunteering
  • Not engage in harassment, discrimination, or illegal activities
  • Respect the privacy of voters and other volunteers

We reserve the right to decline or terminate volunteer participation at any time for any reason.

5. Intellectual Property

Our Content

All content on the Website, including text, images, logos, videos, and graphics, is owned by Friends of Matt Fox or licensed to us. This content is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

  • View and download content for personal, non-commercial use

  • Print materials for personal use in support of the campaign

Restrictions

You may NOT:

  • Use campaign materials for commercial purposes

6. User-Generated Content

If you submit content to us (comments, photos, testimonials, etc.), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute that content for campaign purposes.

You represent that:

  • You own or have rights to the content you submit
  • The content does not violate any laws or third-party rights
  • The content is accurate and not misleading

7. Third-Party Links and Services

The Website may contain links to third-party websites and services, including:

  • Donation processing (Anedot)
  • Social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
  • News articles and external resources

We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of use of third-party websites. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.

8. Disclaimers

No Warranties

The Website is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the Website will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of content

Political Content

Informal Resolution

Before filing a legal claim, you agree to contact us at info@friendsofmattfox.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except for disputes involving intellectual property rights or injunctive relief.

Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Friends of Matt Fox regarding your use of the Website.
